What to Do with your leftover candle wax

  • Create new candles: Melt the leftover wax and pour it into a new container with a fresh wick to create a brand new candle. Or add it to your wax melter to use right away.
  • Wax melts: Melt the wax and pour it into silicone molds to create wax melts for use in a wax warmer.
  • Fire starters: Combine the leftover wax with dryer lint or sawdust in an egg carton or ice cube tray to create handy fire starters for camping or your fireplace.

How to Clean Old Candle Jars?

  1. Heat the jar in the oven at low heat (around 150-200°F) for 10-15 minutes, or until the remaining wax is softened.
  2. Carefully remove the jar from the oven using oven mitts, and use a spoon or butter knife to remove the softened wax.
  3. Wipe the jar clean with a paper towel or warm soapy water to remove any residual wax.

  2. double boiler (a small pot in a larger one with water)

  4. Spatula (pick one easy to clean)

  6. Fragrance oils (phthalate-free only)

How do I refill my candle?

  1. Clean your old candle jar, you can melt it in a double boiler or stick your jar in the freezer so it condenses and knock it loose.
  2. Wick the jar by either using hot glue, a wick sticker, or a clump of wax on the metal wick sustainer and place it in the middle of the candle jar.
  3. Melt the wax, let the water boil and then allow for it to simmer before putting the wax in the double boiler. If the wax chucks are large they can be broken up to melt faster.
  4. Optional (Add fragrance or other oils into the wax)
  5. Carefully pour the wax into the wicked jar and allow it to cool, either keep the wick held in the center or pull it to center as it cools.
  6. Trim the wick to size, roughly a 1/4 of an inch about the wax.
